Artist Statement
My work has taken many forms and styles over the years from weaving and painting to screen printing and intaglio prints. I enjoy fluid mark-making, layering mediums and colors, process experimentation, and simplicity and playfulness within art. Throughout the years, I have always emphasized the process of my art making, through both the artist's hand and happenstance, as well as only creating art where the process brings me joy, not just the final product. I’ve been working with fibers and digital art to create soft lines, organic shapes, and playful art for the home, especially nursery and young child prints. My most recent collection is inspired by my most personal why and our family miracle that has changed the trajectory and meaning of my life and I’ve had the joy of incorporating and sharing it through our “You are Magic” clothing collection. Simply put, my artwork, my “whys” and my motivation has changed over the years into where I am now: making art that makes me happy with the hopes that it might make other people happy too!
