Artist Statement
My work as a digital collage artist is rooted in an ongoing exploration of my Hispanic heritage, memory, and identity, as well as current events and personal views. Using vintage printed images and found ephemera, I construct layered compositions that bridge past and present.
The materials I use—aged illustrations and photos, worn paper, typography, and cultural artifacts—carry their own stories. By re-contextualizing these elements digitally, I create new narratives that reflect both personal and collective experiences. Each piece becomes a space where nostalgia and reinvention coexist, and they’re
reshaped through a contemporary lens.
My process is intuitive and archival at once. I am drawn to the textures of time—the faded ink, the creases, the imperfections—and I use them to evoke a sense of belonging and cultural continuity. Through collage, I explore ways to allow the past to inform and transform the present.
Ultimately, my work is about reclamation and storytelling. Each composition serves as both a personal
reflection and an invitation—for viewers to find connections within their own past and present.
