About

Austin is a multidisciplinary artist based in Texas whose work spans landscape painting, woodworking, leatherwork, and functional craft. Drawing deep inspiration from the natural beauty of our National Parks and the character of raw materials, he works in oils, pastels, acrylics, watercolor, and gouache to capture light, atmosphere, and texture. In parallel, he sculpts and carves wood to create vessels and forms that highlight the grain, imperfections, and organic lines as well as crafts utilitarian pieces like cutting boards, trivets, and coasters, that blend functionality with artistic expression.

Artist Statement

My art is an invitation to pause and reconnect—with place, material, and moment. Across multiple mediums, I seek to honor the beauty that emerges where nature meets craft. Inspired by the sweeping vistas and subtle light of our National Parks, I paint in oil, pastel, acrylic, watercolor, and gouache, exploring atmosphere, form, and the shifting mood of land under sky. Woodworking and carving are a dialogue between artist and material: I allow the wood’s grain, knots, and curves to inform each vessel and sculpture, embracing imperfection as character. Functional pieces such as cutting boards, trivets, coasters, as well as leather goods extend this philosophy, bringing artistry into everyday life. Everything I make is rooted in respect for natural materials, for rugged landscapes, and for craftsmanship. Through each painting, carved, or crafted object, I hope to share not just beauty, but a sense of wonder, grounding, and connection to the world around us.
