Suffering from a sport injury, Chris began his art career just 4 years ago to find an additional outlet for dealing with the stresses of every day life, since his injuries were preventing him to fully practice his love for combative martial arts. Little did he know at the time, that his curiosity would uncover a love for visual arts of all kinds. He began to dabble in acrylic pouring, but quickly realized that he could produce beautiful acrylic paintings with unconventional items, such as squeeze bottles and rolls of paper towels. He fell in love with the use of texture in his paintings to recreate trees and flowers in nature, and found his process to create his paintings to be meticulous and meditative. Chris’ love for fine Cigars, uncovered an additional talent. He found that with the right supplies, he could create beautiful hand-crafted cigar pics made from custom beads from all over the world. What started as a personal need for a tool to smoke the nub of his cigar, has now become a passion for creating one-of-a-kind cigar picks. His cigar pics are sold at exclusive cigar stores in the Dallas area and custom orders can be placed from anywhere in the world. Today, Chris continues to create beautiful acrylic paintings, and cigar picks, but he has also uncovered a love for creating beautiful wood and resin pieces for the home and has created custom pieces, such as console tables, and charcuterie boards. He is currently available for commissioned pieces and loves to create with his clients in mind. His hope is that viewers feel the duality of strength and delicacy inherent in nature, and perhaps find a moment of reflection within the intricate beauty of these works.
