Description
The Fort Worth Poetry Society (FWPS) is the oldest literary organization, in continuous operation, in the southwestern United States. Formed on May 10, 1910, the Society recently celebrated its 125th anniversary. The FWPS is a critique group of local poets who meet on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 6:30 P.M. Its current meeting location is Trinity Episcopal Church in Fort Worth. The mission of the Society is to encourage the creation and appreciation of poetry in Fort Worth. FWPS members regularly participate in poetry festivals, public readings, and other poetry events.
