About

I spent most of my childhood in Houston (Kingwood/Humble), Texas playing basketball and was content to be the “kind of artsy friend. While attending TCU I took studio classes and discovered what could blossom from a good teacher - not just skill, but confidence. After working in corporate social media for a few years, I decided I wanted to teach art and coach basketball. Now back in Fort Worth, in 2021, I started posting my student’s artwork on social media and gained a huge following. I decided to turn my curriculum into a workbook-style sketchbook called This is Not a Sketchbook, It’s an Art Class. The book grew enough I was able to step away from the classroom to continue to grow the business, spend time with my three boys, and finally focus on painting.

Artist Statement

I have been exploring Western Themes for the past 4 years, with a particular focus on women and their role in the Western/Fort Worth/Rodeo Landscape. This year, my work will pivot to a new place, exploring the impact of gifted cut flowers on emotion and regulation through abstract manipulation. This new exploration has been years in the making, following a 6 month series of events in my life all which led me covered in flowers, which I've been thinking of ever since.
