How to paint botanicals: shape, rhythm, and formHow to Paint Botanicals: Shape, Rhythm & Form Date/Time: 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM Duration: 3.5 hours Celebrate spring with a focused, skill-building botanical painting workshop designed for all levels. This class begins with a 45-minute to 1-hour live demonstration by Artist-in-Residence Sari Shryack, who will walk through her process for building a botanical painting—from establishing large shapes to developing form, rhythm, and detail. Students will then apply these techniques to create their own botanical painting, working from fresh floral or succulent references. Emphasis will be placed on: - Seeing and simplifying organic shapes - Building form from general to specific - Understanding rhythm and flow within natural structures - Developing confidence with color and brushwork Whether you’re new to painting or looking to refine your approach, this workshop is designed to give you practical tools you can continue using beyond the class. You’ll leave with both a finished botanical painting and a clearer understanding of how to approach painting from life. Just in time for Mother’s Day—create something meaningful as a gift, or spend the morning painting something for yourself.
