About

Beginning at the age of sixteen, I committed myself to the discipline of blacksmithing and the traditions of forged iron. My early training took place in Virginia, where I apprenticed and studied at the Virginia Institute of Blacksmithing, working directly under master smiths Dale Morse and Fred Crist. After completing my apprenticeship, I spent two years working full-time with Edward Pelton at Pelton Metalworks, refining my skills in architectural and ornamental ironwork. Now nearing the end of my journeyman years, I continue to build work rooted in traditional methods and lasting craftsmanship, moving steadily toward mastery in my own right.

Artist Statement

With over a decade at the forge, I am an ornamental blacksmith dedicated to the craft for the craft’s sake. My work focuses on architectural and ornamental iron, shaped through traditional methods and a deep respect for the material. Each piece is built with longevity in mind—meant not only to serve a purpose, but to endure for generations. I believe good ironwork should feel timeless: honest in its construction, strong in its presence, and lasting well beyond the maker.
