Artist Statement

I never set out to become an artist—but like most of my good ideas, this started in my garage. I’ve always loved cars, especially the look and feel of vintage ads. Years ago, I started collecting old magazines and pulling out the ones that stood out. At first, I just wanted something different to hang on the wall, but over time it turned into a process I’ve refined. Each piece is made by hand. I carefully select and prepare the original ad, mount and laminate it onto a wood backing, and build a custom frame to match. No two are exactly alike—every ad has its own character, and I try to preserve that. What surprised me most was how people responded. Friends started asking for them, then I began bringing pieces to local art shows. Car enthusiasts connect with the nostalgia, and others just like the vintage look and style. For me, it’s about giving these ads a second life. They weren’t meant to last this long, but now they get to be seen and appreciated in a whole new way.
