About

I discovered origami in first grade, folding simple shapes that sparked a quiet but lasting curiosity. It wasn’t until seventh grade, as a struggling math student, that everything changed—my teacher offered extra credit for bringing in complex origami, and in chasing those points, I found my passion. What began as an academic lifeline quickly became an artistic pursuit, eventually leading me to specialize in modular origami, where many individual pieces come together to form intricate, geometric sculptures. My work explores the intersection of logic and creativity, transforming a single sheet of paper into something unexpected and meaningful. Through my sculptures and YouTube tutorials, I aim to make origami approachable, inspiring others—especially younger generations—to see both art and learning in a new way. At this festival, I hope to spark curiosity, share that sense of discovery, and show that sometimes the most complex beauty begins with a simple fold.

Artist Statement

My work in modular origami proves that a single sheet of paper, repeated enough times, can become something wonderfully overachieving. Influenced by my early realization that origami and math make surprisingly good teammates, I use patterns and precision to create sculptures that make people lean in and ask, “Wait… how?” Through both my art and teaching, I aim to keep the craft approachable and a little addictive—because sometimes all it takes is one fold to get hooked.
