About

I attended Grayson County College in north Texas and Southeastern State University in Oklahoma where my love for clay began. Working from a small studio, at home, I have been creating stoneware and porcelain pottery for over 30 yrs. Most of my work is thrown on a hand built kick-wheel, but I do some slab constructed sculptural pieces as well. In my most recent work I have tried to combine a more classic, formal balance with a sense of natural organics in surface textures. I mix all my own glazes, stains and engobes that are food safe and safe for dishwasher, oven and microwave.

Artist Statement

I enjoy experimenting with textures in clay using various tools, materials and stamps, combined with layered glazes, stains and colored slips for a variety of different effects. Primarily using light stoneware and porcelain clays. I fire my ware in an electric kiln to temperatures of 2100° to 2250°
