About
My love for art and creating has been lifelong. My mother is also an artist, so art and craft supplies were always readily available. As I grew older, I experimented with a variety of mediums, from fiber arts to pottery, but always came back to painting. In high school I was blessed with a robust art program and supportive art teacher. I was never restricted to work in a certain scale so began using the biggest canvases I could find. I developed a series of paintings centered on abstracting the human body by blending close-up hyper realism and breaking down my references into simple colorful shapes. After high school I moved away from my pursuit of art until recent years when I began working for a company that fabricates large scale props for casino conservatories and high-end parties. Durning my time there I learned how to utilize HVLP paint sprayers with both latex and automotive paints and finishes. I also learned the process of gilding and assisted with carving pieces out of Styrofoam. I also enjoy refinishing furniture, DIY home projects, crochet and cross-stitch. I am currently learning woodworking and cabinetry.
