Artist Statement
“If I could say it in words there would be no need to paint.” – Edward Hooper
With my art, I express the beauty I see in simple lines and forms. My work does not strive to represent, but rather to express the way I want to see the world. From simple curves of the human body to the vivid hues of a landscape, I want the viewer to see beauty of the mundane. Life is a grand adventure because I choose to turn it into a kaleidoscope of experiences and emotions. I believe the story itself is not the product, but how it is told makes all the difference. My advantage of starting to make art later in life is that I already know the stories. I have heard the music. I have seen lots of stuff, but I still do not know how I feel about it.
