About

Sandi is the founder and creative force behind Brat Bird Creations, a luxury bath, body, and home fragrance brand built on the belief that beauty can be both healing and rebellious. Her work blends polished indulgence with a wink of defiance: high-quality ingredients, carefully curated scent stories, and a bratty-luxe aesthetic rooted in softness, survival, and self-expression. By the time Sandi graduated high school, she was orphaned. Poverty, instability, and trauma shaped much of her early life, but so did curiosity, imagination, and the persistent hope that beauty could still be found in the world. Creating became both refuge and resistance. Through soapmaking, scent artistry, abstract mixed-media painting, graphic design, and lifelong crafting, she learned how to turn survival into something tactile, fragrant, and luminous. That philosophy lives at the heart of Brat Bird Creations. Every candle, soap, wax melt, bath product, and body care item is designed to feel luxurious without gatekeeping luxury itself. Her fragrances are playful yet refined, sensual yet approachable—an invitation to romanticize your life even if you came from hardship. For Sandi, softness is not weakness; it is proof that tenderness survived. Outside of her creative work, Sandi is a student, nonprofit program coordinator, wife, mother, partner, and devoted friend. She openly embraces her identity as a bi and polyamorous woman and credits her chosen family with helping her rebuild a life rooted in love, authenticity, and joy after years of loss. The warmth woven throughout her work comes from that same place: the belief that people deserve beauty, comfort, and delight exactly as they are. Whether she is pouring candles, blending fragrance notes, swirling alcohol inks across canvas, or designing visual branding, Sandi creates with intention. Her work invites people to indulge in small rituals of care, pleasure, and self-expression—because luxury should not belong only to the privileged. Sometimes rebellion looks like surviving. Sometimes it looks like smelling incredible while doing it.

Artist Statement

My work is rooted in the belief that beauty is not frivolous. It is survival, rebellion, restoration, and sometimes, a very well-scented refusal to be diminished. Through Brat Bird Creations, I create luxury soap, body care, home fragrance, and scent-based rituals that blend softness with defiance. My materials are tactile and sensory: creamy lathers, warm wax, skin-loving oils, layered fragrance notes, color, texture, and the small details that turn everyday care into something intentional. I am drawn to the way scent can hold memory, shift mood, and create a sense of safety, pleasure, or confidence in an ordinary moment. My creative practice is shaped by contrast. I come from hardship, but I am not interested in making work that only speaks of pain. I am interested in what grows after it. I create from the tension between elegance and irreverence, tenderness and attitude, grief and humor, luxury and accessibility. That tension is where my brand lives: bratty, polished, sensual, playful, and deeply human. Whether I am blending fragrance, designing packaging, swirling soap batter, pouring wax, painting with acrylics and alcohol inks, or building a visual identity, I see creation as a form of reclamation. It is a way of saying that softness still belongs to me. Joy still belongs to me. Luxury still belongs to people who were never handed it. I want my work to invite people into small, beautiful rituals that feel personal and a little rebellious. A bath can be a reset. A candle can become atmosphere. A bar of soap can be art in the palm of your hand. A scent can make someone feel seen, powerful, comforted, or delightfully difficult. At its heart, my work is about transforming survival into beauty with teeth. It is care, but with standards. It is softness, but doesn't ever surrender.
