George E. Miller is a Child Advocacy Artist. That is to say all of the artwork he creates advocates for the education, well- being and mental health of children and young adults.
For over 30 years, Mr. Miller has dedicated his life to creating artwork that illustrates universal messages about protecting and nurturing children. Each piece of artwork is hand-drawn & hand-painted, crafted with intention to inspire those who support children—educators, counselors, social workers, and families.
Mr. Miller’s art has been commissioned by numerous child advocacy organizations across the nation, including the Child Welfare League of America, The National Federation of Families, The Center for School Mental Health, The National Youth Advocacy & Resilience Association, The International Reading Association, and the 9th World Congress on Mental Health.
In 2015, Mr. Miller was honored as Florida’s African American Artist of the Year. His powerful painting, Each One Teach One: Bringing Down the Walls of Illiteracy, was selected by First Lady Ann Scott to hang in the Florida Governor’s Mansion. And if you’re old enough to remember, you may recognize his iconic piece It Takes a Village to Raise a Child, which appeared in the Disney film The Preacher’s Wife starring Denzel Washington and Whitney Houston.
