Artist Statement
Working with oil paint on canvas, my goal is to create vibrant, colorful, detailed and futuristic images that excite the senses. I'm not afraid to spend hundreds of hours on a single piece.
I was influenced at an early age by my grandmother who would always be working on a painting or drawing. One of my first memories was asking her how her brain made her hand "do that". I've always been obsessed with rich color and texture. In school my favorite classes were art and creative writing, which led me to pursue a degree in Visual Communications from the Art Institute of Dallas. My work endeavors included prepress printing, picture framing, graphic design and then spent several years as a professional photographer, shooting everything between fashion, portraits, and products. But my real dream was to be a painter, creating beautiful works to be enjoyed in the home or business. I'm happy to finally be able to say that this is what I do full time now.
