About

I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil. I went to UTA for my BFA and graduated in 2021. I live in a 100-year-old house in Fort Worth with my husband Eric and my two dogs, Astrid and Willow.

Artist Statement

My artwork is inspired by the monster under my bed, a walk in the woods before sunset, and the faces of strong women in my life. I explore themes of family, nature, and storytelling. My art comes from my own life and experiences, and sometimes from my imagination. Making art is a way to think deeply about the world and my place in it. But it is also a conversation with the viewer, inviting them to see the world through my eyes while also finding their own story within mine. I am primarily interested in ceramics, printmaking, painting, and textile art. My ceramic pieces are often lit within, or explore inner space in other ways. My prints are based on memories I couldn’t get out of my head, or people I want to capture in a particular attitude. My felted embroidery pieces are nature scenes and miniature stories. Drawing underpins everything I do, and I enjoy combining drawing and painting especially using watercolor or translucent acrylic paint.
