About

I come from a long line of doers—people who build, fix, and create. After graduating from college, I had the opportunity to flip my grandparents’ old house, which became an unexpected turning point. During that project I discovered my love for design, woodworking, and the process of bringing an idea to life. What started as making handmade gifts for friends and family eventually became Iradell Designs, a small woodworking studio I run out of my garage. My work focuses on handcrafted household pieces such as charcuterie boards, functional décor, and other everyday objects designed to balance beauty and utility. I draw inspiration from architecture, art, history, music, and nature, and I’m always experimenting with new ideas and forms.

Artist Statement

My work focuses on handcrafted wooden objects designed for everyday life. I’m interested in the balance between beauty and function—creating pieces that are both useful and thoughtfully made. Working primarily with black walnut and hard maple, I create small-batch items such as charcuterie boards, catch-all trays, and coasters. Some pieces incorporate resin to allow for more intricate designs while still highlighting the natural character of the wood. My designs favor organic shapes and simple, understated forms. I’m drawn to subtle variations in shape—objects that feel familiar but slightly unexpected, like forms that are almost a circle but not quite. Influenced by architecture, nature, and everyday objects, my goal is to create pieces that integrate easily into daily life while bringing warmth, craftsmanship, and quiet visual interest to the spaces they inhabit.
