Artist Statement
Jay Decker is an award-winning impressionist painter based in Texas, USA. Jay spent most of his adult life working in finance until he gave himself painting lessons for his 50th birthday. At this time, he discovered he has a gift from God. He continues to work to improve his painting and technique. Jay's impressionistic paintings capture his subjects with depth and character, and his favourite subjects include landscapes, wildlife, and portraits. He has always been interested in photography and has a unique eye for finding interesting and contrasting values in the wild and exploiting every colour associated with each value.
