About

I was born and raised in Yukon, Oklahoma, in a family that holds high regard for both nature and creativity. While earning a degree in Zoology at Oklahoma State University, I made sure to fit in multiple art electives to break up the science heavy curriculum. Eight years ago I moved to Texas for a job at the Fort Worth Zoo as a primate keeper, dedicating my days to caring for the animals and educating the public about conservation, but always practicing my art on the side. In 2025, I took a leap, leaving the zoo world to pursue art full-time. While I specialize in animal portraits, I have had the opportunity to add houses, people, and landscapes to my repertoire. I have also had the chance to share my knowledge as an art tutor for both kids and adults.

Artist Statement

My primary mediums include charcoal and watercolor - two very different disciplines. I love the drama and detail I can produce with the precise control of charcoal, but also enjoy the challenge of embracing the fluidity and flaws of watercolor. I love that my art has the ability to capture the personality and uniqueness of my subjects which then touch the hearts of my clients. Working on a commission basis opens me to the ideas and creativity of others, making art collaboration an accessible experience for anyone. Whatever is meaningful and brings joy to my clients is what brings joy to me.
