About

I've created since I was a child. I loved drawing and photography. My grandmother taught me to sew, and when I became a teacher, my other grandmother bought me a sewing machine. I was on a budget, so I made my own skirts (sometimes the night before work) and curtains. I taught English, reading, art, and communications. When I was able to stay home with my son, I started quilting and painting furniture for art and craft fairs. Years later, I owned a small gift shop/art gallery in Old Town Keller called Main and Vine. I taught pastels, mosaic, and jewelry making. It was a special place with many fond memories. I also became a CZT (Certified Zentangle Teacher). Anyway, I now live in Fort Worth, I'm a member of SAQA, I make art, and take a few of my crafty items to the Green Thistle on Race Street.

Artist Statement

I love to make things - art and craft. I used to think it was irresponsible to not focus on one medium, but I finally realized that's not how I'm wired. I make pastel and acrylic art, draw with ink and graphite and digitally, quilt and embroider and make mosaics (among other things). I'm a retired art teacher who loves making stuff.
