Mel Walker is a multidisciplinary artist born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. Mel’s work spans digital media, clay sculpture, woodworking, painting, and drawing using an approach that invites viewers into playful, imaginative worlds. She is especially known for her expressive character art: cute, approachable figures that serve as both visual companions and quiet reflections of her inner world. Through her characters, Mel explores feelings of depression, anxiety, hope, and resilience in ways that feel gentle and approachable—evoking healing and connection for both herself and her audience.
Much of her inspiration stems from the trinkets, toys, and childhood memories of the ’80s and ’90s. Her work reflects a desire to find moments of wonder and escape amid the weight of the world, and to connect through shared emotional experiences.
Mel holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art from The University of Texas at Arlington. She has been featured by Art Tooth, exhibited in local collective shows including Spring Gallery Night. She lives in Southwest Fort Worth with her partner and their dog, Remy, where she remains connected to her local creative community.
