Artist Statement
Steffie's art is a whimsical approach to a topic that could be considered uncomfortable in order to make a connection to those who don’t have a chronic illness so they might understand some of the challenges faced by those who do. It is a combination of bright colors, surreal, comic-style images and dark subject matter. Steffie mostly creates art on procreate due to ease and the ability to do it from anywhere. However, her first love will always be gouache- and will always do it when she is feeling up to it.
