About

From an early age, Valerie Simpson found herself drawn to the quiet beauty of landscapes, sketching scenes with a simple number two pencil on whatever surface she could find. Art became both an outlet and a way of observing the world—capturing emotion, atmosphere, and movement long before she ever picked up a paintbrush. After relocating to Texas in 2011, Valerie was introduced to acrylic painting on canvas, an experience that opened an entirely new creative path. What began as traditional landscape work gradually evolved into a more experimental and expressive style, blending fluid acrylic techniques, mixed media elements, texture, and movement. Her work today is known for its emotional energy, layered color relationships, and organic flow, often balancing moments of intensity with softness and calm. While Valerie enjoys exploring abstraction and fluid art, her connection to nature and landscape remains at the heart of her creative voice. Many of her pieces reflect the feeling of water, shifting light, earth textures, and emotional landscapes rather than literal representations. Through her work, she seeks to create spaces where color, movement, and emotion connect—inviting viewers to interpret each piece through their own experiences and memories. Valerie’s collections range from bold statement works to intimate miniature originals, all created with the belief that art should feel both personal and approachable. Her evolving body of work reflects a journey of curiosity, resilience, experimentation, and a lifelong passion for creating beauty from emotion and movement.
