Thin Line Fest is a five-day multi-format art festival held March 18-22, 2026 in Denton, Texas. There are three primary festivals: Film, Music, and Photography. All selected artists are treated as VIPs at the festival and are therefore highly encouraged to attend. While the Photography Festival is competitive, this is unlike most contests you have entered. The 'festival' aspect is very important to us. Meaning the contest is rolled up into a physical event, where selected photographs are professionally printed and exhibited at one of our festival galleries. All selected artists are provided a VIP pass to the festival which offers special access to all programming.

Glasstire is pleased to announce the 2025 North Texas Art Writing Prize, a competitive award designed to find and highlight emerging arts writers in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth region. The winner of the Prize will be awarded $2,500 and their work will be published on Glasstire, the online publication for art in Texas. In addition, they will be celebrated at a reception in the spring of 2026. The winner, along with selected runners-up, will also be invited to participate in a Glasstire-led writing workshop this coming spring.

The Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, CT, seeks a highly organized and motivated Development Officer to join our Development team. The Development Officer plays a key role in securing and managing institutional support from foundations, government agencies, corporations, and other partners to advance the Mattatuck Museum’s mission. This position oversees all aspects of the grants program, including research, proposal writing, submission, reporting, and stewardship, while also managing corporate sponsorships and membership initiatives across programs, exhibitions, and events. Working closely with Curatorial, Education, and Finance staff, the Development Officer gathers project information, ensures compliance with funding requirements, and builds strong relationships with funders. The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer with strong attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and enthusiasm for supporting museums, cultural organizations, and community impact.

The Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, CT, seeks a highly organized and motivated Director of Development to join our Development team. The Director of Development leads the effort to expand and diversify the Museum’s funding sources and donor base while overseeing all fundraising activities that support a $1.3 million annual goal. This position manages the development team, shapes the overall development strategy, supports earned income goals, and directs annual giving, membership and patron programs, special events, foundation and government grants, and corporate sponsorships. The Director also serves as a major gift officer, working closely with the Executive Director to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from individual donors. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, an effective manager, and someone who thrives on building relationships and guiding a team through both daily responsibilities and complex long-term initiatives.

This competitive grant program provides project assistance grants on a short-term basis and may include administrative costs directly related to the project. Projects must address ONE of the following priority areas: EDUCATION Intent: Projects that use art to promote innovations in K-12 public education. Designed for projects that impact Pre-K-12 public school students during the school day. Projects must be aligned with the TEKS and conducted in conjunction with school officials. Projects may occur in a school setting or off-site (field trip). Before and after-school projects are not eligible. HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES Intent: Projects that use art to improve human health or functioning. Designed for projects that focus on health-related topics, serve specific populations, or occur in a health care or human service setting (hospital, clinic, senior activity center, women’s shelter, homeless shelter, etc.). ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT Intent: Projects that use art to diversify local economies, generate revenue, and attract visitors and investment. Designed for projects that focus on job growth or cultural tourism (festivals, gallery walks, art fairs, etc). PUBLIC SAFETY & CRIMINAL JUSTICE Intent: Projects that use art to prevent delinquency and recidivism in youth and adults. Designed for projects that focus on at-risk youth or incarcerated populations (after school program, juvenile detention center, adult prison, alternative learning center). NATURAL RESOURCES & AGRICULTURE Intent: Projects that use art to understand and/or improve the ecological and agricultural environment. Designed for projects that occur in rural counties (festivals, fairs, exhibitions, performances) or focus on natural resources (oil, water, green art, ecological issues).

The Bath House Cultural Center and curator Jose Vargas invite artists to submit their artwork for consideration in the 31st annual El Corazón exhibition in 2026. and we are seeking the participation of artists currently living in Texas who work across various media.
